Gary Thompson has worked in national newspapers for 22 years and has a wide experience of writing and editing including overseeing numerous book adaptations in the popular press.

 

He has held senior positions at Sunday Magazine, the News of the World, The Sun and News International's digital publishing division.

 

Gary's favourite subjects are celebrity and human interest. Gary has a sharp eye for detail and a strong instinct for what makes a great read. After two decades in Fleet Street he can also be relied upon to produce fast, accurate copy to deadlines.

 

In 2008, Gary ghost-wrote Duran Duran's Andy Taylor's autobiography – the first and only inside story of Duran Duran - which was serialised in the Daily Mail to critical acclaim.

 

Gary is a graduate of the University of Southampton, where he read Modern History & Politics. He lives in a leafy part of north London with his wife and their pet cat, Toffee.
