Armed with qualifications in science which she is no longer inspired to use and still living at home with her eccentric mother Fleur and her mother's boyfriend Henry, Cindy needs to work out what to do with her life. She knows that she wants to "make it" - but doing what?Henry comes to the rescue and offers her a job in one of his many companies, PR agency Freedom.

At Freedom, Cindy graduates from pr-ing insect spray to helping to win the glamorous Tease Lipstick account. She gets to know her two colleagues, the glamorous, man-eating Margarita and the rather frosty Sara whose approach to life is to do everything by the book.We also get to know Cindy's famous actress sister Mercedes, who can apparently do no wrong, and horse-loving pscyhotherapist Camilla who is all too ready to give advice to others but never gives away anything of herself.

Cindy gets her shot at fame - or, being famous for doing very little - when she is pursued by rock star Jasper. Finally, she is in the limelight and on the other side of the lens. But is this what she really wanted?

PR explores the way in which we create images for ourselves according to our backgrounds, aspirations, securities and insecurities. It explores the nature of human relationships; power plays, what is true and what is false and what constitutes real friendship and fulfilment. It's set in a glamorous world, but the characters and their dilemmas are very much those which we can all relate to.
