After winning the BBC's The Apprentice, Tim Campbell spent two years working for Amstrad plc under the mentorship of the company's Chairman and CEO, Sir Alan Sugar, where he set up a Health and Beauty division within the company. Tim is a Child Ambassador for London and was appointed by the government to focus on the particular problems of the capital's young people under the Government's Every Child Matters agenda. He is closely involved with the Jack Petchey Foundation, the ACLT and is an active supporter of the NSPCC, Learn Direct and Connexions. He is also the face of the British Library's campaign to promote their business support services.

Paul Humphries has spent the last 25 years creating and managing businesses as a director, manager, advisor and business angel. Most recently, he has worked with numerous start-up and early stage companies, advising on proposition development, business planning, fundraising and organisational and operational development and as an angel investor.

Using their combined expertise, Tim and Paul established and now run the Bright Ideas Trust, a charity which helps young people who aren’t in employment, education or training or who haven’t had the same chances as the rest of society to start their own companies and learn business skills that will stay with them for life. They help by providing funding as well as advice and support from a team of dedicated business mentors and expert advisors.

Bright Ideas Trust has already generated successful start-ups, much excitement and interest from corporates and innovative young entrepreneurs alike, not to mention receiving government backing and praise from senior MPs across all political parties including David Cameron and Gordon Brown. Now Tim and Paul will be broadening their message by means of an accessible business book for those without a business, or indeed professional, background.Their USP is that anyone can do it, and indeed anyone should do it - in times when it may be difficult to secure employment, they show that anyone can take responsibility for their own income (and help to boost the economy at the same time) by turning their passions into an occupation and way of life.
