A new and near-heretical understanding of human behaviour at work viewed through the lens of evolutionary theory which shows how psychological drivers such as the thirst for gossip and the need for status are causing information overload - not the technology itself.
As the only book which examines the leadership and organisational angles of information overload rather than focusing on the individual, THE ACTIVITY ILLUSION offers practical guidance on leadership and the lost art of people management in the information age. However, it's also very much a "think" book in the vein of Malcolm Gladwell, shedding light on behaviours which we can all relate to and offering a fascinating insight into the way in which our own mind works.
